The new swipe to go back or forth looks great in Safari, but it always reloads the page you're going too, which can be annoying when you're page starts jumping due to this. Wouldn't it be better if it just remembers the page how it was and just shows it?

So is it possible to disable this?

Thanks!

Safari doesn't actually save the live page. It is an illusion to the user that the page persisted. It saves the page as an image. When you swipe back you see the image and THEN safari reloads the page.

They could make this faster and harder to notice, but if you didn't refresh the page you would be stuck with an unusable image!
