Disable spatial audio - built-in speakers, MacBook Pro 16 inch?

I’ve noticed recently that when I watch certain shows on the TV app on my MacBook Pro, some of the audio is spatial. Does anyone know how to disable that feature? Before I get the usual responses from everyone here, I’m not using headphones or earbuds. I’m listening through the built-in speakers, and I’m not a fan of spatial audio, to be honest. It seems to be inconsistent. For example, the show Ted Lasso has audio that’s spread out in a very wide field, and I simply can’t stand it. Can anyone suggest any other solutions besides sending feedback to Apple, which I’ve already done?

the only thing I think of would be an App. There’s various ones that enhance the output, so there should be one to disable it. I doubt apple will change anything though. They’re betting the fan on Spatial Audio

The MBP speakers aren't spatial audio capable. I guess you're just hearing a hyped-up stereo mix on the souped-up sound system of a Mac portable. I've noticed that my MacBook Air seems to do that.

You could simply switch to mono in the macOS accessibility settings.

There are definitely apps such as SoundSource that can apply AU plugins to the chain. You'd have to find an AU that can narrow the stereo field. There's probably a free one out there somewhere.
