Disable universal clipboard (privacy)

I don't know about you, but I don't like everything that I copy on my mac being sent to a server somewhere.

Is there anyway to disable this???
 
It's not being sent anywhere, it uses continuity... if you copy something, for the next few min if you try to paste on another device, it encrypts it and sends it directly to that device. No content is uploaded to iCloud. Nothing is sent to any other device unless you try to paste within a few min of copying.

are you saying it only goes over Bluetooth?
 
In addition, I'm fairly sure that everything is encrypted using your iCloud credentials, so Apple probably cab't put their hands on it.

If understood this correctly, I uses both Bluetooth and Wi-Fi to determine the proximity of the devices and to transmit the data. What kind of iPhone/iPad do you have? Are both logged into the same iCloud account?
