Hello, So, Iphone s is disabled because my son entered the wrong passcode several times. It says on the phone screen Connect To Itunes but Itunes has been replaced by Music now, right? Attached to my Macbook, the iphone does not appear in the list of devices on the left side of the finder window..
When I try to get the repair screen on the phone by turning it off and then connecting it to a computer it just repeatedly goes to the Apple logo, not the image of the cable I am told should appear. I have tried signing in to my son's Apple ID, Icloud id, to erase his phone from there but can not because it sends a verification code to his phone (apparently) which I can not see because his phone is disabled.

I have gone in to my Find My Iphone and tried to erase it from there but having done that (24 hours ago) it just says Erase Pending.

Any ideas?

Thank you!

thanks for that Ian87w but the screen with the cable and the laptop image does not appear on the disabled iphone when I go through that process, it just repeatedly displays the Apple logo.

Try using DFU (Device Firmware Upgrade) mode: https://www.theiphonewiki.com/wiki/DFU_Mode

If you do it right the screen will be off completely off and the Mac/PC should then detect your iPhone in Recovery mode. Not sure how the new apps do that, I've only ever used iTunes for any iPhone/iPad/iPod related stuff.
