Disabling/Closing Dashboard

How can I get rid of this? I have limited resources with my 512 MB of ram, and don't use this feature. How do I keep it from starting up with my MacBook?

Even if I did use "widgets" I much prefer the Konfabulator(Yahoo thing)...

Any ideas?

I might be wrong but I don't the Dashboard actually uses any memory unless there are widgets open. So closing all the widgets should be enough.

TinkerTool has a deactivate dashboard option.

Onyx can help you disable Dashboard and remove it from the dock.
