I want to use my airport extreme as a USB storage device on a new network rather than a router and storage device. Unfortunately I have already unplugged it, and set up the new router/server and can't figure out where/how to plug the airport extreme back in (i.e. is there such a thing as a USB to USB connection ?). All the instructions I have found start with a router that is already set up.

If I figure out how to plug this back into my new router can I reset it, disable the wireless router and use it as a storage device without losing any data ?

This is a 2011 airport extreme and a new Netgear Nighthawk AC1750 router

Any help appreciated.

Open Airport to the router and turn it Bridge Mode and that will turn of NAT (Network Attached Storage)!
