Why is the disagree button removed from some posts? What's the criteria for when it shows and when it's hidden?

Just curious, why is that?
Reasoning behind the disagree button

- It's only on news stories
- News stories have a ranked "top" comments under the news article.
- Without negative feedback, it's impossible for a comment to get removed from the page.
- Disagree gives some feedback mechanism and some balance to the voting system for news stories.
- If you feel like someone is abusing it, let us know.

At this point, it is in test mode. MR wants to make sure the feature isn’t abused.
It would be nice if it came to regular forum threads just because sometimes I disagree with a post but I’m too lazy to explain why or I feel like it’s obvious why. But then I could see people overusing it and never giving explanations and conversations wouldn’t go anywhere.

Maybe people should have a limited number of downvotes to give. Like 3 per week and no rollovers haha.

I wasn't aware it broke the rules. I just figured I'd be giving the mods extra work for no reason.
Arn wants suspected abuse reported per this linked post.
