Disappearing emails!

Hi. I have a problem with emails disappearing. I have two macbooks, an iphone 11 and an ipad - all up to date. I have several different email accounts, all IMAP. If I open an email on my phone, or on my secondary mac, then it doesn't appear at all on my main mac. Eg; I received an email which I opened on my phone. Wanted to deal with it later, but when I go to my macbook, it's as if it hasn't been received at all. Same if I open it on my secondary macbook. Anyone help at all? Thanks

I would double check your emails are set up as IMAP, it sounds very much like POP email behavior.

Everything is set up as IMAP.

You’re going to need to provide more details then. Email providers, email clients you’re using etc.

Is this happening with all email accounts or just one specific one?
