I don't always listen to music when working out. Seems short sighted on Apple's part.

you can download 2 gb of music onto the watch without the phone being around. I think it is you that has the problem to be honest. Thats like 300 songs or so.....thats a pretty long workout session at 4mins each on average.....20 hours of music....

The point here is that it is *very* clumsy to get podcasts transferred to the watch for use in standalone mode. There are some non-music podcasts I occasionally enjoy while I'm out on a long easy run.

You basically have to individually change their "type" in iTunes to music from podcast before you can add them to a playlist and get them transferred over. That's not onerous for something like Podrunner where you'll listen to favorite mixes again periodically, but it's a real pain for weekly podcasts you'll listen to once and throw away such as NPR's WaitWait or TED Radio Hour.

Pod casts are definitely a bit of a pain I'll give you that. it would be nice if Apple made a podcast app for the watch that allowed you to Download them directly to it. For sure.

I've never listened to a podcast on a long run before because I never have had a device that was portable enough to bring along that allowed for them to be put on (I previously have run only with a 2gb iPod Shuffle ...would never lug my iPhone + on any run) Could be nice to listen to a podcast on a run though

7th gen ipod nano. tiny (slightly more than two shuffles), lightweight, supports podcasts and automatically syncs them from itunes. With it supporting bluetooth audio, sweatproofing is achieved by just wrapping it in a small plastic or sandwich bag.

It's almost like you didn't even read my post. In fact, it's exactly like you didn't read my post.

I'm not talking about music. I'm very well aware I can sync music (via iTunes/Apple Music) to the Watch.

I'm talking about podcasts and Audible books.

Do you understand what I'm saying now?

No. you original post was mainly about Spotify. You said podcasts and Audible as an addition to your main complaint.

I see you're just trolling now though so good on ya. Enjoy your "other" gps enabled smart watches that have podcast/audible/Spotify support.

I feel like a simple search on the App Store would have saved a lot of hassle. Apps that are compatible with the watch have "Offers Apple Watch App" underneath the App Logo and Name. Supported Apps even have screen shots of what the App looks like on the watch. Not sure how its Apple's fault if the developer decided not to make develop for the watch.
