Had exchanged my iPhone 5 for 5 times (build quality issues, screen defect, no service issue)...
Then contacted seller and he exchanged my iPhone 5 for brand new 5S. So far it is perfect, no issues... However a bit dissapointed with current Apple QC

Millions of iPhones sold and 10 people posted they had issues. Seems like apple QC is just fine.

As I've said i think i've just been very unlucky, i went on my wife's ipad yesterday and it is perfect and has been since she has owned it.
I did arrange the box from apple to be sent so i could send it back but i don't think I'm going to bother, i can't really be without my phone for a week due to work and I've only got until June when i can upgrade anyway. The faults don't stop me using the phone in anyway they are just slight annoyances. I had read that the screen popping issue can go away on it's own and to be honest it hasn't really been a problem today so it may stop on it's own. I'm not blaming apple because the screen popping issue wasn't present when i first had the phone so there is no way it could have been picked up before it left the factory.

I wasnt being snarky, no manufacturer is immune toward defects and a certain percentage will always have issues. When it happens to you it is frustrating so i hope next time around you are served well.

I didn't think you were being snarky at all dude  but yes it is frustrating. I'm all set to send it off to Apple but going to give it a few days first to see if the problem gets any worse. Doesn't help that it is intermittent so at times it's perfect but the next minute it's clicking like crazy lol

Disappointed with Iphone build quality

The first iPhones were the best. Now its all plastic and it sucks IMO.

This thread is about a 5s. Please stay on topic.

Sad to hear the OP and others have had problems. Is Apple providing you new devices or refurbs?

The vast majority of the time you will be provided with a refurb should you have to have your device exchanged. I've been fairly unlucky over the years with all models of the iPhone but I've always been treated right when I present the issues and I've always been satisfied with the replacement devices.

In short, refurbs are going to have fewer issues due to additional QC checks.

iPhone 3GS had gone with 2 dead batteries and 4S was so flawless I dropped twice on the sidewalk with screen protector and cheap case no damage at all. Now I am with new 5S I hope it is still good. :apple:

That really is unbelievable for an apple product, 3 bad ones in a row Steeve Jobs most be angry lol, I really hope you get a good one because they really are good phones

Call your cell compony i now Verizon over nights a replacement and you just send back the bad one with the box the new one comes in

Thanks everyone, I relented yesterday and sent the phone off. Mainly because the issue with the screen seemed to be causing wavy lines across the screen when touched. I'm not bothered whether they replace the screen or just swap the handset, fingers crossed the next one i have doesn't have the same issue.

One will never get a "too picky" comment from me. We work hard and need to get satisfaction from what we spend those dollars on.

I'm very happy so far with the 5S I got about a week and a half ago. Hopefully my feelings will not change and it stays in the same condition it is now.

I'm on my 3rd 5s. Aside from screen yellow blotches, all were flawless. The last screen is great, especially after screen calibration from cydia.

Sorry having a bit of a rant! i've posted before when i first got a 5C which i had to swap due to issues with the case coming away from the screen and a dead pixel. Swapped for another 5C which had the screen popping issue, got upgraded to a 5S and i've been happy with it apart from the power button rattling but now it's developed a clicky screen too!

The 5C was my first ever iphone and i was expecting top notch build quality but i'm now on my 3rd iphone which has problems! I'm not going to bother swapping it because i'm worried about getting another one with issues. I can upgrade in June so i may see if there is a new iphone out or go back to android.

I'm just overall pretty disappointed, i do love my phone and ios in general but i can't believe the quality of the handsets. I know some people will say I'm being picky but i had a galaxy S2 for 2 years without a single issue and many phones before that, the iphone has been the first handset I've ever had to swap due to a fault!

Rant over, lol:p

You my friend had alot of bad luck, i've never even heard of this screen popping issue. What exactly does this entail? Does the screen actually come loose or does it just creak when you press down on it?

No the screen doesn't feel loose but it almost feels like a gap has formed underneath the glass and if you push lightly you can feel the screen move and then pop back up which makes a clicking/popping sound. Sometimes it's barely noticeable but if i've been playing a game and the phone is warm and i press on the screen it makes a pretty loud pop almost like the screen is popping back into place. It's very strange but obviously an issue as i sent the phone in and Apple are sending a replacement out. As i mentined before though the problem wasn't there when i first had the phone it took a good 4 weeks or so for it to start happening so bit worried about the new phone doing it too

Just to update everyone, i received a new phone today from Apple, it came in a white box so not sure if refurbished, i checked the manufacture date it was it made in the 3rd week of Jan. Screen is fine on this one, power button rattles still but i was expecting it too, also i think the home button on my old phone must have been a bit dodgy because the home button on the new phone feels a lot better. Super impressed with Apple's service, reported it online on Tuesday, got the box Wednesday and posted it same day and new one came today!
