Disappointed with latest gen MBP performance. Need some help.

I'll try to summarize here. I have been using the latest generation macbook pro, fully maxed out, for a few weeks now and it's VREY slow with lightroom and photoshop. Panning images in both programs yields a stutter, brush strokes are lagged way behind the mouse. It's overall sluggish when I know it should not be. It's almost unusable.

Can anyone help?

i7 quad @ 2.6
16GB memory
1 TB SSD

This thread makes me believe you should try to keep your rMBP at Iris Pro, instead of letting it to switch to nVidia:

I have the same with my Late 2013 15" MBP.

In addition to those apps you mentioned, also Logic Pro X is sluggish (unless I use it in low resolution mode.)

please change your graphic card default setting (igfxcard), please change to "nvidia", default is "dynamic".... may itt can help you from lag.
