I finally go for macbook air rev c instead of macbook pro 13 inch
    and got it ytd

    The monitor is really bad...
    blue color.......
    really bad

nth install but trackpad suddenly cant work for tag to click function
and need restart it to perform normally

the most disappointed things is the airport

I put it beside to macbook pro 13 inch
it just show 2 points of airport while pro is full.
even cant stream the youtube smooth while my pro can, the same link
and even my iphone run smooth on youtube using my home wifi network

i have asked apple to change my air
but i think another one is the same

    bad screen, worse airport
it is amazing when the cover is closed
if the another one is still that worse, i think i will change to pro instead of air.....

    one more things
i have tried removable hd to transfer thing into mac by usb
the speed for air is almost same as the lower spec of 13 inch pro

    My Rev C Macbook Air

I bought a new MBA with a SSD 3 days ago on June 23. My screen is great, I don't see any problems with it but, I am having problems with my airport. The most annoying problem is when I open the computer and it wakes up the airport doesn't work so I have to turn the airport off then on again. I'm not sure if it is the computer or something with Snow Leopard since I have the latest release installed.

I have the same problem at with my home network using my Airport Extreme N Router. The Apple Support group thinks that it may be interference with my network. I am switching to another channel to see if it fixes the problem. The funny thing is that I went to Panera Bread this morning to see if the same problem happens (not finding the network automatically and joining), and it always joined the Panera wireless network without problems. I came back home and again, it would not automatically join.

LOL, these posts are too much, I mean you're feeling for the guy with all these massive problems he's having and then 'poof' you read Apple sent him a replacement and it has the 'exact' same problems.

For a person who's bought about 6 MBA's total for my Company, and knowing another half dozen people around the world who use and cherish their MBA's I don't buy it.

    I'm calling B*ullshit here  :D

(ps - airport router problems - change channel, problem solved, I had to do this to a few new Mac's - the signal strength should increase dramatically. pss - change color from 1.8 to 2.2)

I think that apple just wanted to mac the thinnest mac that's it. Rest of it sucks. Big time. I feel bad for all those people who bought it. :(

You shouldn't, because I love mine. Unless you have an Air, you shouldn't say it sucks.

    P.s.

Don't get me wrong I still love my MBA it's just a minor annoyance that I wouldn't expect. I fell in love with Apple because I didn't have to deal with stuff like this.

Hi OP, hope your replacement comes with no defect.

I have rev C. myself and none of the things you said happened to my Air (touch wood). the screen is great, the trackpad is very responsive and the airport connect as soon as i wake up my MBA from sleep. The machine is amazingly fast if you compare it to the old macbook (i used to have a blackbook). I have a MBP and when i compare it to the rev C a barely see any difference. Good luck

That's actually interesting. I have a Blackbook 2.2 with 4gb of ram but have always wanted an MBA but figured that my blackbook would still be faster. Presumably if you went for the high end model the SSD really makes a significant difference in speed? The other only thing that would concern me is the inability to upgrade ram to 4gb at some point in the future but my concerns are met by many other people and probably being the only thing that is reducing sales i would think.

Me too and I know someone else who purchased the same configuration as mine.........no issues whatsoever.

I love the new MBA w/SSD but I also use a powerful desktop...in fact two: one at work and one at home.

Yeah, i believe the SSD is playing a big part in the high performance i am noticing. I can see how RAM may concern you. This is why i use my MBP as a desktop with external monitor (with the 8GB RAM) for tasks that require that amounts of RAM. Though up to now most of tasks are met very impressively by the air.

All of you who love your Air Rev C---does your fan kick in just about everytime you're using it? I like the computer but just can't stand the fan kicking in so much. All I'm doing currently is looking through MacRumors and I started to Verify Disk Permissions and in under a minute the fans kick in and start blowing out hot air. Same deal for the Air last night that was doing nothing but backing up to my Time Capsule--woke up in the morning and it was almost done but breathing super hard--no clue why as this was all it was doing! I used to have a unibody MacBook and I think I've heard the fans kick in like this once/twice max. So I'm just wondering, is this something people have gotten used and accepted or is mine faulty??

EDIT: Also, the vents were not covered either of these times, it was just on my bare glass desk.

Verifying disk permissions will cause the fans to rev up. Backing up using time machine will cause the fans to rev up also. Just surfing the net shouldn't really cause the fans to rev up.

The heatsink on these Airs can only store a very small amount of heat and apparently the fan is just very weak at cooling the system. If we had a bigger heatsink with more surface area or a smaller heatsink with more surface area, or maybe a better fan... then... it'll be a lot better.

I'm sitting here in my kitchen, charging @ 35%, 3 tabs in firefox, itunes, mail, adium and my fans are at 2577rpm with the CPU @ 57 deg C. Ambient temperature is 94 deg F according to the themo next to me.

Can you hear the fans at that rpm? Also, I see you're running OS 10.6, do you have an issue where whenever you start the Air the system volume is set to the max level regardless of how low it was at shutdown?

I think part of my fan issues were caused by my backgrounds that are used to changing every 5 seconds. Never had issues with this on my other computers but I've since gotten rid of that and it seems to be doing much better.
