Having had a large phone for years, the side button seems the best spot for the power button. I am probably one of the only user that is glad they put it there as I am accustom to it now. Now if you wanted a weird power button location, try using it from the rear like the LG G2 or G3. :)

It was a little awkward for me at first but slowly I'm getting used to it. Occasionally I would go to the top to lock or unlock my phone only to realize is not there.

After 7 years I think it will take a little while to get used to the side.

I hate it. It is even worse trying to turn it off in apple's leather case. It takes me several seconds to do it.

You're right, I like the case a lot but since it smooths over the buttons it's now a 2-step operation: you have to find the button first, then get it pressed (and it is not easy to press). I've actually started referencing what row of icons on the home screen it's adjacent to (between the first and second), of course that only helps you if you're on the home screen and doesn't help you turn the phone on. I wish they had done cutouts for the buttons.

I had to switch to using my left hand to lock the phone. With my right hand I kept hitting the volume buttons, like everyone else. Slowly getting used to it.

Hate it, too.

I regularly press a volume button trying to sleep/wake.

Should've left it alone on the 6.

Took a couple days to kick my habit of hitting the non-existent button at the top. Now it feels quite natural. It's just a matter of getting used to start using your right thumb instead of index finger (if you're right-handed).

Change! Aaaaasaaaaaaaassaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

To me, functionally and aesthetically it has made not a jot of difference.

7 years of the power button being on the top and they mess with it. I just tried doing a screen shot and then it hit me ... I hate the power button the side!

HATE it.

It feels akward and unnatural. Apple products just work ... This doesn't. Screen shot top and bottom ... When I did it felt like I might drop it while trying to do it.

And what if you hit the power button during a call while holding in your hand???

Feelings???

Doesn't bother me at all.

I only have a case so far, no phone, waiting on the Plus... It wouldn't look as nice but I wish the power button were about half way up the side. That way when I'm holding the phone as most people probably due, resting on the pinky, the power button would be right where the tip of my index finger would be. Also pretty much eliminates the possibility of also hitting the volume buttons. But yeah, it would throw off the symmetry. :( Plus I guess if you were gripping it in the middle you'd accidentally hit the power button.

Your post is absurd.

Where is the power button? ??

Its where it needs to be. If it was still in top you'd need to move your hand to sleep the device. It makes good sense. Give it time and you'll get used to it.

This won't effect anything. At worst it will turn your screen off, but the call will not be dropped. Only way to end a call is to actually tap "end".

I suppose you could keep holding the button, but then there is the "slide to shut down" action you have to perform to truly shut down. Truthfully I haven't ever tried that while in a call. It may not even allow that. I don't know.

There is no "natural" button placement. It's easier for people with smaller hands. I would prefer it on the top, but it's not a big deal.

And how do you plan to reach the power button on the top?
I did notice though the side power button ****ed up my max skill level. I often miss time buttons some how and end up locking my phone. I'll get better though. Right?

Hated at first but hey just a few days and I'm very comfortable with it and like it a lot. I even found myself trying to lock my iPad on the side like a moron

Try again holding it up to your ear. It seems like Apple may have foreseen your worries and prevented this issue ;)

What worries? What issue? And finally, what does it do when holding it up to your ear and pressing the button?

Does it end the call or something? I've honestly never pressed the power button while on a call with the phone up to my face and the screen off. I'd imagine it locks the phone. I know while screen is on and you press the button while on a call, it'll turn off the screen. Press it again and it locks. No?
