Disconnect safeguard for VPN

im trying to set up a VPN disconnect safeguard where if I d/c from the IP belonging to my VPN, i won't reconnect to internet using my normal ISP.

in windows i use a method where i go into CMD > route print and add (I actually just have a .bat file that I run with the following directions

route delete 0.0.0.0 192.168.2.1
route add 46.36.231.130 (my mexico IP) mask 255.255.255.255 192.168.2.1 metric 1

on MAC these dont even come close to working. can someone help me with creating the bat file?
