Probably not from apple but maybe retailers will try to offload their old stock once the new ones are in?

Depends. if Apple store still has them in stock, they can sell them at a discounted price. Unfortunately the airpods were hot items at the Apple store near me and they sold out last week. Also I asked them and they said that technically if they still had those in stock, they would still sell them at a discounted price. Doesn't hurt to check.

Wow! This almost has me wondering if I should just buy another pair of first gen instead of spending 70 more to get wireless charging and one hour of extra talk time. Decisions, decisions!
