What sort of manufacture dates are people getting with the 128GB T-Mobile in gold and silver? I got a Verizon gray 128 and it was manufactured in August 2018. Haven't opened it yet to check the battery because I might sell it if I find a newer one. Gray is sold out so I wonder how likely it is that I could get a newer unit if I order a gold or silver.

Manufactured August 2018 is great, I'd say getting newer would be hard since the SE was discontinued on September. Mine also a Verizon one and was manufactured November 2017, the battery is flawless though.

I agree with Audigy. The chances of finding a newer SE are vanishingly small. I'd open the one you have and be thankful.

I received my iPhone SE 128GB Space Gray (T-Mobile) two weeks ago. Out of the box, the battery level was a single red line and wouldn't charge from my MacBook USB port. Plugged it into the wall and after 20 minutes had enough charge to boot the phone and continue charging while connected to my MacBook.

Manufacture date was 1-30-2017, so fairly old stock. Came with 10.2.1 installed and a T-Mobile SIM. However, after a full charge, it's been running strong, holding a charge, and recharging fine. Not sure if this puts anyone's mind at ease, but I was concerned about the manufacture date at first, but so far, so good.

I got the exact same phone, week 9 2017 build. Same experience with battery, all good.

Same here. Late 2017 build. Dead battery on arrival. Charging fine with great battery health.

i was hesitant, only because i am wondering if apple is going to surprise us soon with a new small device. however, since the SE works very well, and Apple should support it for quite some time since it is still being sold new, i decided to grab what i liked now. i can always resell if necessary.

I purchased a SG 128 model last month and ended up selling it to a family member recently. And because of that, several family membesr who have been Android users for years, have switched to Apple and the SE. I had bought the SE to use as a backup phone / music player.

I purchased one of the remaining 128GB models (Gold) over the weekend and received it today. It is running 10.2.1. Coconut Battery shows it was made 2/27/17 Full charge capacity is showing 98.7% (and phone is fully charged).

Apple should keep this up permanently,, as they do nothing good by taking it down,, it'll only be back tomorrow anyway. But they just don't wanna "deceive customers", all they need to do is explain a bit more.

I understand the "new unopened state" of such units, but selling a device with a battery completely dead for such a long time is not good for customer satisfaction. I guess they are playing with the majority of customers buying these clearance devices not knowing how/care to see the battery heath. Such a cheap move.

Well at least you can try to ask for a battery change later on while still under warranty. Maybe since the device is freshly registered and with less than 100% health ask it now?

That is a good idea. I will ask Apple and see what they say.
