Education

I just picked up the 2015 rMBP i5 128GB at Best Buy using the 10% mover's coupon and the $50 education savings. Pre-tax total $1124.99. Post tax $1229.05 with our insanely high sales tax. I was thinking about getting the MacBook in April but being an MBA student I figured the new MacBook Pro would be a better fit for me.

How do you get a mover's coupon? What's needed to get the education savings (is it another coupon, I.D., requirements, etc)?

I went ahead and bought the newest rMBP. Spent a few hours restoring backup so no time to play with it. Coming from a cMBP it's quite a leap.

Need to go to the post office today and get another mover's coupon as the one I had was expired. Did have $100 taken off for student discount.

I bought a 2014 13" base model rMBP for the reduced price at Best Buy earlier this week, with movers/education coupons for $990 pre-tax. Eventually got slight buyer's remorse and went back and swapped it out for the 2015 base model, for $1125 pre-tax with coupons.

I am coming from a 2007 MacBook that has been a champ (I use it everyday for 6+ hours), so I figured the extra $150 was like a drop in the bucket for the slight upgrades, considering how rarely I upgrade. My old MB still runs pretty well, but the fans are ALWAYS on and certain websites are just unusable. Plus, I'd like to keep it around as a back-up, so the idea of it just dying one day finally got to me and forced me into an upgrade!

You can get the mover's coupon at any post office; just ask for a change of address packet. As for the education savings, if you have a .edu e-mail address, it will be e-mailed to you if you sign up here:

You can only use both coupons in-store; you can't use both online in one transaction.
