Hello,

I ordered 6s on the pre-order night and like many of you it should be delivered by 25th.

I also applied for Discover credit card for it's bonus of 20% basically and got approved.

Now I am thinking I might return my iPhone and buy it again at apple store with 20% cash back basically.

My question is:

Do I have to ship my phone within that 30 days period or I can return it at my nearest apple store to get my money back.

Then I will buy one again the next day with my discover card.

Thanks for your help!!

If you ordered from Apple you can return it to Apple. I'm unsure if you're expecting to be able to immediately re purchase your returned device (if so that is up to the store and employee but the general answer is no). You mentioned buying another from the store the following day. Tibia unlikely there will be stock the next day, but if there is, I don't see why this wouldn't be a viable option.

Yep, it isn't guaranteed that the OP will find another one in stock, especially if the iPhone is sold out for 2-3 months like at many launches.

just take it to apple store. tell them to return it for you and then buy it back from them via apple pay. you should be able to get 10% cashback.

Assuming you can pay using Apple Pay in the Apple Store. It wasn't an option when I recently replaced my wife's shattered screen, as they processed the CC manually.

I was worried about this because I have had the same issue buying an iPad, but I did confirm Friday that I will be able to pay for the 6s using Apple Pay in-store when I purchased a case and dock. I even got a message from Discover confirming my purchase qualified for the 10%.

Yes, Apple Pay is doable with accessories. Others who have done the in-store iPhone purchases should chime in to say exactly how it's done. Whether it's done like buying an accessory (with the Apple Pay option) or replacing a screen (with no option for Apple Pay)?

FYI it's 22%. You get 1%, doubled to 2% anyway, and then 10% doubled to 20%. Total of 22%.

It's all the same, the back of their device has NFC, I watched someone pay for a Mac while I was there. Actually using easy pay in the store doesn't count, it doesn't use Apple Pay but instead the CC tied to your Apple account. So I bought my accessories through an Apple store employee.

Thank you all for your help.

I will just go in apple store sometime within next 2 weeks and return the iPhone. I will be calling the apple store to see if they have one available. Hopefully they will within the next 2 week period.

Might even end up with 2 iPhones :)

Did the email from discover happen automatically without you requesting it? ie you purchased the case/dock and just automatically got the email direct from Discover (and not apple).

It was an alert on my phone (I believe through the Discover app). I have already seen the transaction on Discovercard.com and it actually posts with the tag "Apple Pay".
