Why can't I add and open Discovery / Discovery+ content via the Up Next rail. The option is generally open in Apple TV or Prime for Discovery programs.

I wonder why Netflix won’t participate in the Up Next menu. I’d think it could only increase viewership for ATV owners.

100% agree, I tend to look at Netflix programs after checking up next.

The reason is because they don’t want to share streaming data with Apple.

Since Disney & Hulu (same company), Amazon, Peacock, HBO, and the other majors do, I wonder why Netflix comes to a different conclusion.

Especially now that Netflix is integrated into Sky Glass & Stream in the UK. So you can add to the Playlist feature on those platforms.

As good as the the Apple TV hardware is the user experience is pretty poor especially in the UK with some apps like MY5 still not in HD! Despite it being part of the Paramount family.

The good thing with Apple is, it just works. Sky stream is a bug fest of annoyance and expensive.

So hopefully Netflix will start allowing to add to Up Next.

That’s only because they came to a partnership deal.
Netflix only integrates through Sky if you take out the Netflix subscription through Sky itself, if you just log into the app with an existing login then there’s no integration at all.

Sky were losing customers to the streaming services so they partnered with Netflix in hopes to bring new customers to Sky, especially as the Netflix sub is at a discounted price.
