Discrepancy: Finder vs About this Mac

I am perplexed by a 6.97 GB discrepancy between what my finder (Get Info) and About this Mac reports for the free space on my hard drive .

Get Info: 295.1 available
About this Mac: 288.13 free

Am I missing something here?

It is because Time Machine's local backups space is ignored by the Finder.

You can see the local backups space used in that purple Backups section of your screen shot.

You can just ignore this space as OS X will shrink it down if the user needs the space.
