New to Mac here. Got a top of the line iMac. I was wondering if there is a disk defragmenter program similar to Windows, or any other utilities that should be run on a semi regular basis to keep my computer running fast and smooth? I use Safari, but I dunno if I am getting any spyware. Thanks.

You are not likely to get any kind of virus or spyware on the Mac, so you should be OK there

Also, most will tell you there is no need for a defragmenter either

Welcome to the Mac and OSX... it isn't Windows

He's right. Nothing to worry about - just make sure Volume Journaling is "On" in the Disk Utility and you're all set.
