Disk image fails to mount

I have a .dmg file that refuses to do anything. Disk utility can't verify, burn, or recognize it. What do I do?
 
I too am having the same problem, with any .dmg. I read that it has to do with the 10.4.9 update. Anyone have a solution.?
 
It could be the 10.4.9 update... Try opening a new user account in System Preferences and see if that account can open DMGs. 🙂
