Disk Repair Slowed Everything Down

I did a disk verify and repair from my startup disk because my boot was slow. Now it takes even longer to boot and it seems as if everything has slowed down...any ideas?

What app did you use? Did you continue running the repairs until no changes were made? 🙂

Is the drive actually selected under System Preferences->Startup Disk?
