i ran a verify disk in disk utility and got this:

im recalibrating my battery in a sec, and will be rebooting my system, but does anyone have any suggestions... ive run disk verify 3 times now and all three times i get the spinning beach ball and everything will almost freeze up and then that will pop up... idk
 
You need to either boot from the OSX disc and run Disk Utility from there to repair our volume, or you need to run fsck. Either of these options should resolve this issue. Try to back everything up beforehand, just in case. :)
