Hello
i'm trying to repartition my macintosh HD. I boot from the recovery HD and go to disk utility. But, when i try to make my macintosh HD single partitioned, i get an error which says that the HD can't be unmounted.
could somebody help me?

Recovery console is on the partition you are trying to adjust

You can't do it that way. Only suggestion would be to boot to something like a linux/ubuntu live cd and use that disk utility or grab a copy of ipartition and boot from cd if possible.

Be careful; if you do what you are trying to do you'll lose the Recovery partition. How will you boot your mac?

if you have a time machine disk it is bootable and contains a disk utility. Boot up from your time machine disk and try doing the same thing...it will work since you aren't trying to work off the disk you have mounted.

you won't lose the recovery partition....it is included in the blue area of used data. It is also protected. If you use time machine tho, its not really needed.
