History:
Went into recovery mode (CMD-R) and started disk Utility.
This gives errors (4 snapshots),with alot of lines saying ‘error:doc-id tree : record exists for doc id 107905,File ID 29296212 but no inode refers this doc-ID).
(I got alot of the same line but with different numbers on all 4 snapshots)
The volume /dev/disk3s2 was found to be corrupt and needs to be repaired.
The test results in an EXIT 0.
Repeating the Disk Utility always gives same results.
I did this test already a few weeks ago.I was hoping macOS somehow would overwrite these snapshots but now 2 weeks later the 4 snapshots still give these inode errors. (Snapshots are recent, from yesterday and this morning) so the problem persists.
This was problem 1.
Problem 2 : I also ran disk utility (in recovery mode) on an external mechanical HD where my timemachine backups reside. (8TB WD MYBOOK)
I had to give the disk password to unlock it,this worked but now it’s already 3 hours it’s running and the details say ‘ Running First Aid on “WD MyBook Timemachine Backups” Unlocking Disk.
I hear the HD is reading/writing but it never progresses it stays on Unlocking Disk.
Please help,Force quitting doesn’t work (option-Command-ESC).
I’m afraid to shut it down holding the power button as the HD is very busy reading/writing.
What can I do?
Thanks for reading English is not my native language.
