Anybody compared at least TWO of these against each other?
Then there is this Virtual Volumes View, and that old Print Window...

Differencies?
Price-Features ratio?

I'm using NeoFinder and am happy with it. Price-Feature ratio is a non-issue. NeoFinder is free with some limitations and very cheap if you need to remove those restrictions. Just a solid, very well working piece of software.

Started digging. Price matters less than usability, but it still matters, since we have to buy 3 private licenses for starters. Did put all these 3 to catalog a disk with 6.3TB of data.
In NeoFinder I changed some settings, but it had lots of thumbnails etc. already on by default. So I expect it to be very slow.
Virtual Volumes View does not show advancing in any way, so hard to say how slow it is...
DiskCatalogMaker had almost everything off by default, so I let it do the baseline time with that.
After 10 minutes DiskCatalogMaker is 80% done, and NeoFinder is not even 10% done...

I turned NeoFinder's thumbnails and basically all the stuff that takes time and disk space off before I indexed my NAS and HDDs for the first time. The NAS is a 30TB NAS, so that still ended up taking about an hour. The HDDs are 2TB HDDs and each took less than 5 minutes.

Aaand 5 hours later, NeoFinder is still under 20%, so I'll have to cancel it try to find the minimal settings with it.
Virtual Volumes View has finished after few hours ago. It's UI is most simpliest it can be, there's only one timestamp (modified), name and size. And all sizes are megabytes, so it tells that Volume's size is 6,000,385 MB!
But for those who doesn't need more, can use it free...

I know its been a while since this post started but im trying to find a DiskCatalogMaker alternative Neo finder is not the same at all, its more less another app that scans for photos and media, DiskCatalogMaker takes actual snapshots like Time Machine, only your seen the snapshot with no back up of the actual files, but its what I want for drives offline stored for years., if anyone has better suggestions please advise.
