Disney today announced that it is rolling out support for the Live Activities feature on iPhones for mobile food and beverage orders at its two big U.S. parks.

The feature started rolling out today at select mobile order locations across Walt Disney World and Disneyland Resort, the company said. Where available, the feature allows you to track the status of your mobile order on the iPhone's Lock Screen or in the Dynamic Island, without needing to open the My Disney Experience or Disneyland apps.

You can tap the "I'm Here, Prepare My Order" button to have your order freshly prepared, and view your order number, order status, and pickup location.

Live Activities are available on the Lock Screen on all iPhone models that are updated to iOS 16.1 or later, while the Dynamic Island is limited to the iPhone 14 Pro models, all iPhone 15 models, and all iPhone 16 models. You may also need to ensure that your My Disney Experience or Disneyland app is updated to the latest version.

My wife and I went to DW in 2021. It was a fun experience but O..M..G, the food lines were pure chaos. I get that they serve a billion people everyday but I was very ready to not be around people after that trip.

Still waiting for the MDX app to make use of widgets. Would be great to see Lightning Lane return times and dining reservations without having to open the app.

If there were ever a case for the iPhone to have a swappable battery, Disney is it. I used to visit and use my phone to take photos but now you can hardly visit without the app. I mean you can, but you dont.

A couple slim light 5k mah MagSafe batteries to swap between is a pretty good workaround.

Oh yea, I take battery packs with us. Water, light ponchos. Took nice ones once and learned my lesson. Point was, you need a lot of battery at Disney and with food orders in the app too its even more need. More being funny than anything. Appreciate the reply though, it is a good suggestion.

Disney should also track the BMI of park visitors, that's quite impressive... It looks like humans from WALL-E 😟
Their food is precisely what humans need to exponentially increase their BMI.

Never.
Save you money and organise a nice trip in a nice place.
There are many nice places in the US and in the world. Orlando is just a sad scam.
My wife would heartedly disagree as DW is her Graceland.

That being said...while I did have fun at DW, I've been pushing Hawaii to the top of our next to-go place. I'm sure we'll go back to DW eventually but I've been dreaming of Hawaii for almost 20 years.

So wait when is the best time to go to Disney World?
There are five or ten websites out there that are for planning your WDW vacation. They have crowd calendars and plans to how to structure your day and all sorts of stuff.

You can also find a reputable travel planner to help too. They are travel agents but focus on Disney, and can help you navigate the process of planning a trip. There are like 14 hotels on property in Orlando. How do you pick one? I just had the travel agent narrow it down to 5 and then I picked from there.

ETA: the travel planners are free they get commission from what you reserve (hotel and theme park tickets).

Good to see that more apps are supporting live activities. It is taking time for apps to support it. Has been now more than two years since dynamic island on the 14 Pro series was introduced.
