Has anyone noticed any variance in the panels? Just got a second 14 pro and compared the panel to the other one. Older one from launch seems to be slightly brighter with a slightly cooler tone. One from today is slightly dimmer and warmer

I’m guessing this is normal but its annoying me thinking its a fault. Any thoughts?

Might be worth checking where the new device was manufactured as Apple launch devices were all made in China, where as a fair amount since have been switched to India due to the ongoing issues in China. Could be a different component/ supplier/ lack of quality control etc...

All Pro models are manufactured in China only. And besides, all Pro models are using Samsung OLED, no matter where they would be assembled!

However, if you compare 10 displays you would most likely get 10 slightly different appearances. That has been the case since forever, for OLED as well as LCD.
Don’t worry about it.

They are all different. Its a lottery what you’ll end up with.
The “defects” run the full gamut of different color shifting on off axis viewing, different brightness, different color hue, even different pain response.
Some people have purchased a 14 pro & couldn’t tolerate it because it gave them headaches & eyestrain, then tried again with a replacement of same model & they could tolerate it.
You never know what you’re going to get.
It’s believed that the store display models are hand picked to be the brightest of a batch so they really pop when on display.

Thank you everyone for the response!

Was wondering would this still mean the phones still hittings 1600/2000 nits brightness? There’s probably a margin for error I’m assuming thats negligible to the entire experience
