Anyone get the base model ($2399)? I do really like it, however, the only thing I notice is the colors seem a bit different (compared to my old 2019 15" base model) , not bad just maybe a little less bright/saturated than the 2019 15"? or is this because its the baseline? anyone else seeing similar? Love the keyboard! Size is about same as the 15", not a big difference, thinner vessels are nice! speakers unreal!

I have the base but don't have a 15" to compare it to. Colors look fine to me but I am no expert..

let the panel lottery begin!
LOL! and I am normally not that picky about this stuff....

base is
  • AMD Radeon Pro 5300M with 4GB of GDDR6 memory
  • higher end model is
  • AMD Radeon Pro 5500M with 4GB of GDDR6 memory
don't think this would make a visual difference?

base model or not has no impact on screen that is included. all models from $2399 to $6099 have the same screen.

does it have anything to do with true-tone? Or what's it called?..
don't think so...see sample below the colors just don't look as saturated as I am used to..

not its the default factory setting I didn't change anything... wondering if that is simply a difference between base model and $2799 model?

The colors in that image do look different from what I'm seeing on my browser. What browser are you using? Colors look different on Firefox, for example.

But again--the different models wouldn't matter. It would be the same on all models.

As everyone has said, there is zero difference in the display in different models. Now yours does look dimmer, could be a bad panel.

Do you have “automatically adjust brightness” enabled? I’m looking at the laptop in the store right now and enabling that setting washes out the colors. I’m sure my laptop does it too I just never thought about it.

If you are in the store, can you confirm if the extended return policy started today? Another poster mentioned in a different topic that their receipt says returnable until Jan 8th.

What do you mean screen grab ?

A screen grab or print screen is showing us what your computer is telling your screen to display, not what you are seeing. Think of it like this. You have a computer > display/screen > then your eyes. A screen grab shows us between computer and display/screen. For us to determine if your screen is messed up, you would need to take a photo of your screen, so we seen between display/screen and your eyes. Does that make sense?
