Display for second monitor for 2025 iMac

Hello,

Pardon the question here. Looking for advice. Is getting an Apple display monitor overkill for an iMac second screen? Are there comparibles that allow for adusting the levels from the keyboard, additional ports, ability to turn to portrait with a stand? Just looking for some thoughts. Thanks, Carl

I'd say yes, depending on what you need it for (photo editing or lots of screen time editing docs or doing other stuff).

This 32" is not bad and a solid deal, if you have HDMI or DP dock capabilities (I use a CalDigit TS-3+, DP connection) and don't care about no USB-C; there is one of those available from Amazon too for $25 more).

I prefer more accurate colors and higher pixels per inch for my dual display setup.

Unless you go with at 5K 27" display (from Apple or anyone else) to match the iMac's ppi, you might not like the difference in ppi when using both screens next to each other.

One of the best ever most cost-effective 27" (Display Port, or not-so-impressive HDMI connected) Mac compatible displays all time is the old and venerable AOC U2790VQ 27". It has solid ~164 DPI and exceptionally high color accuracy (for some sicko like me, who often peruses thousands of photos to find what I'm after).
