    Hi guys,

So I'm in a position where I need to display iPhone's screen (well, actually iPod touch 4gen) to an external screen. I need a solution where I can display a whole iPhone screen, not just in apps that support video out, so the kind of solution Apple uses at their keynotes.

    Thanks!

I use DisplayOut with the iPad VGA adapter. Your phone/ipod needs to be jailbroken in order to do this though.

No way to do this on a non-jailbroken iPhone?

Not, there is not API to do it on the SDK. (there is for Video out, but as you already know that doesn't display the springboard or any other app)

LOL no, they got direct access to the Hardware and non-public APIs they are the gatekeepers for then the idevices are not in "jail", they are not only showing the device screen they can actually remote control it (If you haven't noticed). you don't have to believe me, anyone can download the SDK, you can take a look at all the available APIs.
