I'm considering a Mac Book Alu.

Are the display issues still present?

Next, which model? The $1599 doesn't seem to give you much more, for the money. Still work it though?

Thanks for the help. Do Apple stores have a VGA adapter in stock, I want to connect it to TV sometimes.
