Soon I am gonna buy the upcoming iPhone 18 pro (Max). I read sometimes articles which state that Apple is using various companies for the display. Of course I want the best display for my iPhone.
Can I improve the chance for this by buying the iPhone direct for Apple instead of buying in a possible cheaper other shop?

I live in Europe, should that make any difference.

Thanks for your thoughts.

If you wanted the "best" screen, probs best to wait 3 or 4 months. By then, any issues with the production runs would be ironed out.

If you want the best screen just keep buying and returning until you get the one with the screen code everyone says is the best.

That seems to be what some people on here are doing these days!

That’s sound like a good idea (I mean waiting for a few months).
But it won’t be easy to refrain from ordering after the announcement.

I know that many people do prefer the ordering and send back method. But I do not like it. In general, I only order when I want to buy.

If you order directly from Apple you will get either a Samsung or LG screen, both of which will meet Apple’s strict standards for their devices. I have iPhones with Samsung or LG display panels purchased from Apple and have no problem with them.

For example I just purchased (different device altogether) a new 11-inch iPad Pro M5 with the nano texture display panel and discovered my device, purchased from Apple, comes with the LG “GH3” display panel rather than the coveted Samsung (G9N/G9L) because I chose the nano texture display.

Going back to iPhones the differences between the Samsung panels and the high quality LG panels that Apple is using will barely be noticeable due to the standards Apple places when building their devices. For this discussion, my 1TB Deep Blue 17 Pro I purchased directly from Apple in December has an LG “FXT” display panel on it.

I have never once seen a material difference between Samsung and LG displays on iPhones. Sure if you pixel peep you will find something but it’s virtually unnoticeable in normal use. Apple wouldn’t use them if they weren’t virtually identical.

IPhone 20 is the one to wait for, 18 is just a repeat of the same. And I bet you couldn’t tell the difference between the “best” and “worst” screens apple use
