I have a M1 Mini that is 16/512

Will it have any issue running a 32” 4k monitor from Samsung via HDMI cable? 60hz refresh rate

90% using for music production on Logic, a little FCP editing, and web browsing

which model? weirdly I have two different Samsung 32" 4k monitors. one of them works perfectly well at 4k 60hz. the other one im not sure what it is, but there was always an issue with it. the colors weren't right. the blacks were super washed out. I tried a bunch of different things and could never solve it. it works fine for me work computer at 4k 60hz.

the one that works well: https://www.bestbuy.com/site/samsun...onitor-dark-gray-blue/6293716.p?skuId=6293716

the one I had issues with: https://www.bestbuy.com/site/samsun...onitor-with-hdr-black/6451095.p?skuId=6451095

It will have no problem running a 4k monitor at 60 hz. However, using a usb c to display port cable instead will give access to a scaled resolution to 3008x1692 that looks very nice, but I normally run in 3840x2160 the vast majority of the time.

bbednarz, it sounds like your monitor that is being fussy has HDR turned on. In the displays panel of System Settings/System Preferences uncheck the box associate with HDR and things should look better. For whatever reason Apple's implementation of HDR for monitors doesn't seem to do what you expect as a user and things appear washed out. If that doesn't fix it, check rtings.com to see if they tested that model and what their monitor settings were. It may help dial it in a bit better.

Sometimes issues Mini HDMI to Monitor HDMI - some experience their screens going blank and then restoring after a few beats. Or longer. Not a setting thing with OS or monitor. Mini USB-C to Monitor HDMI seems to resolve it.
