display resolution help please

    can someone clarify for me what is the best or highest resolution i can get for my white macbook with a mini dvi port to a 1080p tv? i currently have a mini dvi adapter to vga running to my tv via vga cable. i would imagine that a dvi to hdmi should be better? if so what is best res i could get? i currently wity my vga setting can not get above 1360x768. can you help me out please?

    1920x1200 is the maximum supported resolution for external displays. TVs might be something else. Have you looked at the manual of your TV yet, to see if there is anything about resolutions written in there?

    Also have a look at MRoogle (my sig) to search for topics with similar problems, as this questions comes up every now and then.
