My console readout is nice and quiet when I'm using my Mac Pro 3,1, but when I try to put it to sleep, the display feed shuts down, but the machine won't sleep; I can still here fans running and HD activity. Could someone tell me what might be preventing sleep here? This happens on both Yosemite and Mavericks.

Finally figured it out; switching off Internet Sharing did the trick.

    Got the same problem.

Standby works perfectly as long itunes is closed. When iTunes is open my MacPro doesn't go into standby ( display turns off, USB devices still active and mac is still running )

internet sharing etc. is off. Any suggestions?
