When did the iPhone start doing this. I called Time Warner Cable today to pay my bill and the caller name said "Time Warner Cable" and not the number I typed like it usually shows. How long has this feature been available? I am on IOS 10.2 beta 2. It seems to know who I am calling even though they are not in my contacts. I do not have and have never saved that 1800 number.

Something that started for some numbers (potentially the more widespread/popular ones) back in iOS 9 if not even iOS 8 days.

I'm pretty sure the same thing happened to my mom when she called AT&T to activate her 7+ a couple of days ago.

I think it's pretty cool.
