This is a recent thing that happened. I don't know what is causing it and chances are I am going to have to take this to the apple store :/

Anyways, basically I have been using my MBP with my monitor and it has worked flawlessly. This weekend it decided to start acting up, it's not outputting and video signal.

It will work fine for a while and then it just cuts out, I also noticed that if I slightly tap to the left of the trackpad the monitor flickers.

I'm assuming that perhaps its the video card stuff and maybe there is some overheating going on?

Some feedback would be much appreciated! Thanks!

In what order do you connect the display to the MBP?

I have to connect the VGA-mDP-adapter to the VGA cable from the monitor first, and then I can plug the mDP-adapter inside the port. But it should be really fitting into it, otherwise my MBP doesn't recognize the monitor.

Use iStat Menus to monitor your temperature, be it the 9400 or 9600 card.
Which are you using by the way?

(9400 - better battery life / 9600 - better performance)

Thanks for the reply, I just have a DVI cable connected to the minidisplay port dvi adapter.

I just turned on the iStats for monitoring the temperature, the gpu is currently at 34.

I am using the better battery life, I switched when I was having problems and it made no difference.
