Hi,
It took me some research to find the right gear for that so I thought I'd post my solution to output the rMB on a displayport monitor (2560x1440 resolution @60Hz).
I've used :
- Aukey's USB-C hub with HDMI and power delivery (https://amzn.com/B01B7M5SMY)
- Startech HDMI to Displayport Adapter - USB powered (https://amzn.com/B0144NS4Z6)
- A USB "AiPower" charger for the Startech adapter (Aukey brand but any can do)
- A Male/Male Displayport cable
Just put everything together, along with Apple's charger (you can also use a Quick Charge 3.0 certified charger, but the rMB will lose 1% battery every so often).
It works flawlessly with my Samsung S27A850 monitor, it may be a solution for those out there who want to connect an Apple Cinema or Thunderbolt display, using a DP to mDP cable or adapter.
