I was wondering if it would be possible to splice together your own displayport to mini displayport by taking the apple mini dp to dvi and cutting it and mating it to a displayport cable? I need to know if their are any active circuitry involved and if the apple mini dp to dvi are missing pins on the mini dp side. Thanks!

It's a simple pass through, so you would be able to make one. :) The size is the only difference, as the spec is otherwise identical.

Just make sure the pin outs match. :p The wiki link will help immensely.

I checked to see if any ready made adapters are available yet, but none came up. :( Perhaps not enough demand yet.

Thanks, the pin out diagram for the displayport is helpful. I'll be using this cable with my dell 2408 because I just don't like the hugeness of the mini dp to dvi adapter.
