Hi guys first time poster here

My 06 Pro developed this odd issue after the recent 10.6 installation and boot camp partition. Basically the screen has severe distortion. The contrast it all wrong, colours are way off.

Now booting windows via bootcamp initially produces the same results, distortion, however after putting windows to 'sleep'/hibernate', and waking, the screen is totally fine, how it was before! This makes me unsure whether or not its a graphics card/hardware issue.

I have the MBP open so I am willing to fiddle with a few internal plugs if necessary.

Thanks peeps.

Most likely the graphic card is at the end of it's lifetime. The X1600 wasn't really well built.

thanx for the replies guys

if it was the graphics card i'm assuming it would affect an external display (?) but it doesn't! i've hooked it up via dvi/vga and it's fine
