the gforce visualizer is the best.
hey, is anyone able to sustain 30fps constantly in iTunes visualizer in a any size other than small?
let me know. i'm not sure if apple's hardware can even do it yet.
as far as divx goes, i hate predecoding the files, even then, the audio only works like half the time. i'll try some of the suggestions posted here though.

Virtual PC does not support CD/DVD burning. Trust me, I wish it did. I have a 400 disc CD player, and while the hardware can support burning CD-TEXT, there is not a single @#$@#$ Apple program that supports it from the software side, so I can't label my CDS. I'm so pissed off. You'd think that the software part would be the easy part.

My G4 (500) can't do very much at full screen (640x480) but I got to play on my brother's friends (then-new_ Quicksilver 867 w/GeForce3 and I think he got 84fps. I also used a Dual 800 at the Apple store on a Cinema, but I don't remember the FPS, but it was more than 50 i know that.

really? cause i tried it out on i think a dual 800 machine at compusa, but the frame rate was as described in my previous post. i'll try it again sometime. thank you. it was depressing to think that apples hardware couldn't even run it's own visualizer on itunes at a compitent rate. now i'm relieved.

I wonder if the iTunes visualizer is hardware accelerated. On my computer it runs within 3 fps on my Radeon PCI and my Rage128 PCI. Anyway as a reply to above, make sure you don't have any pop-up windows if running anything in full-screen. The window will not fit, making an error and cutting your performance down to 1/3. Seriously. I stopped using popup windows after i found that out. Good think I run OSX now. Ha

(Update) OK OK I got off my lazy ass here are the specs:
G4 500Mhz (Sawtooth)
Rage128 Pco AGP2x (stock) 16MB: 17fps
Radeon Mac PCI 32MB DDR: 12fps

Run on iTunes 2.0.3 on MacOSX 10.1.2, no background applications were running. Results are from full-screen Apple iTunes visualizer. Presumably the visualizer always switches to 640x480 but i can't check since it's in full-screen (duh).

itunes aint no ripoff

sure itunes was based on soundjam code...but lets not forget the original interface.

with soundjam you end up with a windows scattered around to have multiple playlists...i think the itunes gui is by far the simplest, elegant design.....

yeah visuals are nice, but far from the most important thing in a playa'
