I need to make a playlist for my christmas party. I am going to plug my ipod into the bar's system.

I have selected my playlist full of cheesy songs but want a program that can 'mix' them together - it doesn't have to be perfect - I just want them to overlap slightly to avoid the gap where the track changes.

(Despite itunes' gapless playback there are still gaps inbetween songs)

Any one got any ideas? Am willing to try/buy anything to enable Wham's Last Christmas merge with Kylie's I should be so luck... too much info?!

It will be time consuming, but within iTunes you can set the start and stop time for individual songs. What you are experiencing is a common problem in that there may be a few seconds of silence (dead space) at the beginning or ending of the music file. However, by changing the start and stop time to eliminate this dead air then the music will be more seamless. If you have a laptop that you could take to the bar instead of an iPod then you could also use iTunes crossfade setting for more seamless mixing.

I remember that, with an earlier version of Itunes that I had, I had it set up so that, five seconds before one song ended, the next one would start. Personally, I found it sort of annoying, but if you look into the feature (I don't remember if it was a preference or what), you might find just what you're looking for.
