DMG file password

Is it possible to recover DMG file if you forget the password?

it is my file so please no " it sounds suspicious" type of comments.

If I should guess it's encrypted, then no there is no way to recover the files in it.
However if you had a weak password on it you might be enable to brute force it.

I was able to recover the files by using my timemachine and deleted the dmg file.
