Hi all..

I'm only guessing, but perhaps the Apple TV only reads such information during startup, since it doesn't have the computing power of OS X or iOS devices. Somewhat akin to Windows reading the Registry on startup, so after changes to the Registry, a reboot is necessary to load the updated information.

only you don't need a restart or sleep, if you change DNS to auto...

But you do with static..

That's what i don't get..

So, if looks like Apple TV does have it in place, but as to the question as to why it only works one way, not the other ?
