Has anyone tried, would recommend installing dnsmasq on 
Leopard?
I'm curious to know if there is something already built-in that would make it redundant or any downsides.
A priori, I don't think there is anything like this built in. Recently I had a DNS problem and I think dnsmasq would have, well, masked that problem for domains I already visited.
