Do 13 inch MBPs run hotter than the 15 inch models

I keep seeing reports from people who claim their 13 inch MBP runs hot, yet the 15 inches appear to run fairly cool.

My 13" 2.26 runs noticeably hotter than the 15" 2.53 I had.

Most likely, yeah.

Depends on what 15inch you're talking about, only the one with the dedicated graphic card has the additional fan, I reckon.

My 2.23 13" MBP runs cools as a cucumber. Of course that may be because I replaced the stock HDD w/ a SSD. At any rate it's the 1st MBP I've owned that I can actually sit ony lap w/o getting a 3rd degree burn.

My new 15" runs extremely cool. Much cooler than my old 15" MBP.

I think so, because 15" has 2 fans according to my iStat in Dashboard.
Left fan and right fan.

As mentioned earlier, that is because you have a 15" with a dedicated GPU. The integrated GPU version of the 15" has one fan like the 13"
