iPod touch Do 2.4A Tablet chargers hurt the Ipod Touch battery?

I have several tablets so, all my chargers are currently 2.4A. I am concerned that the fast charge heat build up will shorten battery life. I also have those power cell chargers for travel which are 2.4A as well.

With the Gen 6's relatively low battery capacity, I want to make sure I don't prematurely shorten its lifespan.

No the charge circuit will only take what it wants. Added to that if you look at the larger chargers on apples site you'll see there ok for the whole range.
