Bluetooth headphones from Jabra and others can pair with multiple devices at the same time. Can the AirPods pair with multiple non-iCloud devices?

The old circular profile Apple headphones fit and stayed in my ears perfectly. The newer iPhone 4 era parabolic shape only fits in my right ear and pops out of my left ear immediately. I was pretty bummed out when they made the airpods based on that fixed shape, instead of a more form-fitting soft polymer interface. So I wait and see.

Jony Ive probably had the AirPods molded to fit his own ears and said "screw everyone else". That's what happens when designers care more about imposing their personal preferences on everyone than improving usability for all.

Does anybody know yet if AriPods 2 work on other devices that don't run iOS 12.2, macOS 14.4 or watchOS 5.2?

This article seems to focus on AirPods 3rd generation.

Are the problems with AAC alluded to towards the end of the article also applicable to AirPods 1 and 2?
